2026 recap: why global investors gathered in Miami Beach for FII PRIORITY

In March 2026, Miami Beach hosted FII PRIORITY, a global investment summit created from an initiative of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, the country’s sovereign wealth fund. For three days, investors, policymakers and business leaders met here under the theme “Capital in Motion”.

What FII is, and why it meets in Miami
FII stands for Future Investment Initiative. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) launched it in Riyadh in 2017 as an annual conference. It is now run by the FII Institute, a non-profit foundation with an investment arm. Besides its main event in Riyadh, it holds smaller “PRIORITY” summits around the world.
The Miami Beach edition, held March 25–27, 2026, was the fourth in Miami. Its theme, “Capital in Motion”, focused on how money moves between countries, with a strong focus on the Americas and technology.
Concrete announcements during the summit included an agreement between the IDB Group (the Inter-American Development Bank) and Saudi Eksab to advance equity investment in Latin America and the Caribbean, a new “Capital in Motion Index” to be unveiled at the next main FII conference, and the third edition of a startup pitch competition with MIT Solve.
What it does not mean: a conference is not an investment. No new Saudi purchase of Miami property or local company was announced as a result of the summit.
Why it’s good, in plain words: when the people who manage large pools of money from the Gulf, the U.S. and Latin America choose Miami Beach to meet, Miami becomes part of their conversations. That visibility helps bring business relationships, visitors and future investment interest to the city, even when no deal is signed on the spot.
