The G20 summit is coming to Doral: what Miami needs to know
· Summit scheduled for December 14–15, 2026
The G20, the forum where the world’s largest economies meet, is scheduled to hold its 2026 leaders’ summit on December 14–15 at Trump National Doral, in Doral, Miami-Dade. It is a closed diplomatic event, not open to the public.

Miami on the world stage
What is the G20?
The Group of Twenty brings together major advanced and emerging economies to discuss issues that affect business, jobs and money across borders. Its members are 19 countries plus the European Union and the African Union: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Türkiye, the United Kingdom and the United States. That is the membership list, not a confirmed list of who will attend in Doral.
The United States holds the G20 presidency this year. President Donald Trump announced the Doral venue on September 5, 2025, citing its closeness to Miami International Airport and its separate buildings for delegations.
Security is being treated as a National Special Security Event, with the U.S. Secret Service in charge, working with the FBI, FEMA, the State of Florida, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties and the City of Doral. Officials say to expect a heavier police presence and traffic changes in Doral, but specific road closures and times have not been released yet. The City of Doral planned a news conference on October 28 to share more details.

For agents and investors: if you have showings in Doral or appointments near the airport in mid-December, watch the official access notices before scheduling. No official forecast of hotel, rental or property-price effects has been published.

Why it matters · Our view
For a few days, Miami-Dade will be in front of the world’s leaders and media. International visibility is a reason to follow this closely, not proof of a real estate boom.
Still to be confirmed
Which leaders will attend; road closures, times and security zones; any public side events; hotel demand and economic impact.
