AI accounting firm Inkle buys Finally’s bookkeeping business, with teams in Miami and Boca Raton
· Announced October 28, 2026; deal completed September 8, 2026
Inkle, a San Francisco accounting and tax firm that combines AI software with accountants, has bought the bookkeeping business of Finally, a Miami financial-technology company that served small businesses.

AI × Small business
A practical example of AI at work
Bookkeeping means keeping a business’s financial records in order: recording every sale and expense so the owner knows where the money goes and can file taxes. Inkle uses AI software to sort that information, with accountants who check it and close the books every month.
Inkle took over Finally’s bookkeeping customers, team and related assets in an all-cash deal; the price was not disclosed. About 100 people are joining Inkle, working in Miami, Boca Raton, New York, Puerto Rico, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. According to Refresh Miami, the deal was completed on September 8, 2026, after Finally’s operating company went through an assignment for the benefit of creditors, a process used to wind down a company and sell its assets.
Customers keep working with the same bookkeeping teams. Inkle says it plans to grow its U.S. team, including in South Florida.

Why it’s good, in plain words: a small business owner spends hours every month on receipts and bank statements. When software does the sorting and an accountant checks the result, owners get accurate books faster and can spend more time running their business. For the local teams, the deal keeps their work going under a new owner.

What it means for Miami · Our view
AI is moving into everyday business services, not only into big tech. This is software plus people, not robots replacing every accountant.
Still to be confirmed
How many of the people joining work in South Florida, and whether Inkle will add new local jobs. This is a change of owner, not an announcement of new jobs.
