The Paris studio behind Hermès stores designs 40,000 sq ft of amenities for Fouquet’s Miami

· Planned, not yet under construction

A rooftop pool, a hammam with a cold plunge and a golf simulator, all designed by RDAI, the Paris studio known for Hermès stores. The planned Fouquet’s Hotel & Residences has shown what life inside the Design District’s first luxury condo tower would look like.

Fouquet’s, the Paris brasserie founded on the Champs-Élysées in 1899, plans its second U.S. hotel in the Miami Design District, after New York. The project pairs a 25-story residential tower with a separate 12-story Fouquet’s hotel, both designed by Pritzker Prize winner David Chipperfield.

This week the team showed the amenities: more than 40,000 square feet indoors and outdoors, with interiors by RDAI, the Paris studio behind Hermès stores around the world, and landscaping by Perry Guillot. The hotel would also run the residences, with 24-hour concierge and services such as housekeeping and chauffeurs.

Why it matters · Our view

The Design District has been Miami’s address for luxury shopping, but almost no one lives there. A branded hotel with full-service residences would be the neighborhood’s first luxury condo tower, adding a new kind of buyer to the area between Wynwood, Edgewater and the planned commuter-rail stop at NE 39th Street. RDAI is the studio that designs Hermès stores, not Hermès itself: this is a Fouquet’s project.

Still to be confirmed

Approval of the building permits, the groundbreaking date, and the final completion date.
